Cleaning

Silk is a delicate fabric, to increase the lifespan of your silk tie, it should be dry cleaned, and never washed just in water.

If a silk tie gets stained, the best thing to do is have it professionally cleaned. For immediate treatment after a stain occurs however, there are some at home stain removers designed for silk you can use in the meantime to reduce the stain before you manage to take it to a dry cleaners.

Storage

Store your tie by loosely rolling, starting at the narrowest point. This way your tie will not wrinkle nor will the fabric become creased.

To increase the lifespan of your tie, you might also want to use a silk protection spray in between washing.
